George Mitton
October 16, 1937 – March 15, 2008

George started his coaching career in the early 70’s in AYSO. Very quickly, soccer became his passion; he became President of NHB in 1978 and never looked back. During his 30 years with NHB, he turned the NHB Cup into one of the most prestigious tournaments in the United States. He also saw the club win 3 National Championships, 6 Regional Championships, and numerous State Championships. George’s passion was the 4-4-2 system, and he was insistent on his players perfecting its use. His many contributions to youth soccer were recognized by CYSA-S with his 1999 induction into the CYSA-S Hall of Fame and as the District 3 Honoree in January of 2008.
Over the years he has touched the lives of countless young soccer players. His enthusiasm for soccer and love of life will be missed by his loved ones, the NHB Family and the Southern California soccer community.
